How do I know if my current insurance provider covers surgery with The Tether™?
Contact the Zimmer Biomet Reimbursement Hotline at 866-946-0444 or email@example.com to learn which insurance plans cover anterior vertebral body tethering for idiopathic scoliosis.
How can Zimmer Biomet support me?
As a potential candidate for anterior vertebral body tethering for idiopathic scoliosis, Zimmer Biomet offers an Access-To-Care program. This service is intended to help establish coverage with commercial insurers who are not currently covering The Tether. Contact Zimmer Biomet’s Access-To-Care program at 866-946-0444 or firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
I’ve been denied coverage by my current insurance provider, what do I do next?
One way we can help you obtain coverage is to support your appeal of a denial via processes that are established by your insurance company. Contact Zimmer Biomet’s Access-To-Care program at 866-946-0444 or email@example.com for assistance with your appeal.
How do I find a trained surgeon in my area?
Only certified surgeons are listed on the surgeon finder at www.myscoliosis.com/surgeon-locator. Tether certification includes detailed lectures on indications, patient selection, HDE approval and surgical technique overview. It also includes a hands-on experience where surgeons simulate a real surgical procedure on a torso model, utilizing the thorascopic approach. The last step is typically a surgical observation, where surgeons spend a day in the O.R. with an experienced faculty member.
The surgeon finder is a free service, helping patients to find qualified surgeons. Since surgeons must choose to be included in the surgeon finder, the surgeon finder list on www.myscoliosis.com may not represent the complete list of all trained Tether surgeons. You should inquire directly with your surgeon about their Tether training status and surgical experience.
